That quality for that price is a real gift from Ulanzi, great work !
John W.
Love this tripod - it's light, stable, easy to use, and versatile. I got the video head for it, so I can use one tripod for photography or video. The quick release system is also very easy to use. Combined with a Ulanzi mini-tripod, I have a complete system at my fingertips.
Simon T.
Good quality product
Eziz A.
This is a super compact travel tripod and it's very light too. Can't wait to use in my travels.
Carlos A.
Very well built, lightweight, portability and at a good price
Paul S.
Great value and fantastic product (lightweight, well thought and sturdy)
Dan C.
I own several Gitzo and other carbon fiber tripod and monopods, but none are ideal for a lightweight setup. The F38 tripod and U-190 head however are ideal. The U-190 is the smoothest travel of any of my many, more expensive heads.
All of the Ulanzi products I’ve recently purchased are first class. Thank you for a very impressive product line.
Kind Regards, Dan Carter
Maryna Y.
Light weight, easy to assemble , easy to cary arround.
Matthew T.
Incredible value for the money. Extremely versatile and very sturdy. Intended use is to hold a camera/teleprompter/monitor setup and it does so with ease.
Ed B.
haven't had a chance to use it. this weekend perhaps. I do like the design and size.
Peter G.
Just purchased the F38 carbon fiber kit with video head. Havent used it so far in the field but very impressed with functionality, size and quality. Taking it to Indonesia in 1 month. It fits inside my Peak Design Travelpack.
Emmanuel B.
I have been looking for a travel tripod because the Manfrotto tripod that I have is a bit heavy to carry around. I was considering the PD but I don't have the budget for the price. Then Ulanzi came out with F38. Half the price and more features (for me). After a couple of months of research, I jump and get the F38 with U-190 fluid head accessory. I just love it. No regrets at all.
Steve S.
Extremely well made and thought out features on this model tripod. Well worth the price, shipping very quick to the East Coast of United States
Delphine T.
Light & convenient. Love it!
Bjarne J A.
Everything I have heard and read about this tripod is true. It is compact when folded and strong, being a travel tripod, when in use. I will bring this on all my travels.
Hung N.
Light, strong and quick to use
Snow Y.
Super lightweight, easy and smooth to operate, also easy to carry with an included case. It would have been nice if the case has a side little pocket to put the metal feet in, something to consider for future enhancement.
The material is solid with smooth finish, good looking. The centre column is not super smooth to move up and down, but not a big deal. The F38 plate requires a coin to screw it tight onto the camera. Future enhancement could look into a built-in ring to tighten it.
The length after packing is a bit longer than a regular camera bag, it would have been nice to be able to tuck it in the bag without having to carry an extra case.
Cosmo S.
The most lightweight tripod I've ever owned. Perfect for travel shoots. I'm excited to be able to switch seamlessly from my tripod to other devices (like my DJI RS2) using the f38 quick-release system!
Matt M.
Excellent tripod. Very compact and lightweight, but holds my camera stable. I love the fact that this is so easy to throw in a backpack and take with me wherever I go. There is a little sag/settling time with adjusting the ball head, but that's no different than most ball heads I've used before.
Jan F.
Excellent tripod, relatively fast shipping from China, in about 15 days, well I love, lightweight, adjustable, fast, really happy about this purchase. Obviously this was considered with comparison to Peak Design and for that amount of money, it is no brainer. Hopefully it will withstand many shooting days in environments.
Chee Miing C.
Easy to use , stand it up just within a second.
Easy to carry, can be put inside my camera bag.
I love the quick release plate + locking knob
Simone S.
I have many alluminium tripod , but this is very better
Brayden F.
A well made and very sturdy tripod
Jeff A.
Well made from quality materials. Cleverly designed. Light and compact. I like that it comes with another centre column and spiked replaceable feet. Well worth the price compared to some other tripods on the market.
Dennis R.
Looks great have not used it yet
Hector G.
The ease of opening and closing was great. Switching landscape to portrait mode was fast and easy.
R. S.
Good tripod but must add a little weight on provided hook for Astro shoots. Even in the dark once your hands learn where the levers and buttons are using the tripod is easy.
KIN L.
The days of heavy fibre carbon travel tripod are gone forever. Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Travel Tripod is portable, light and most importantly it is easy to handle and top notch build quality. Simply the best travel tripod
Jayne R.
This tripod has been heavily hyped. Puts you in a hypersensitive mode wanting to find the failing no one else did.
So I found one.... then realised it was me....NOT the tripod.
Weeks in, I have stopped carrying my normal work tripod and replaced everything I do with this tripod. Though called a travel tripod, you really can do a lot with this. You obviously draw the line with a heavier bit of kit but for my interiors its a breeze.
the ball head has meant I can do some video too being able to be ready to shoot on uneven ground more easily by a quick movement of the ball head to correct horizon. I also have the video head which works well.
Very fast to put away with the leg locks you can close all at once when the tripod is tipped upside down.
So weeks in, I cant see how you could improve it or would need to.
John N.
High quality, lite, sturdy, easy to use … love it!
Maria C.
You are is great!!!

OVERALL I AM FAIRLY PLEASED WITH THIS TRIPOD. I DO FIND INSERTING AND REMOVING THE QUICK RELEASE PLATE A LITTLE FINIKY ESPECIALLY IF HANDLING A LARGER/LONGER LENS.
ALSO YOU REALLY HAVE TO CRANK THE BASE PLATE SUPER TIGHT ON THE TRIPOD COLLAR OR BOTTOM OF THE LENS AS I'VE FOUND IT BACKS OFF EASILY AND THE LENS QUICKLY LOOSEN AND BECOMES WOBBLY.
I HAVE BEEN PUTTING THIS TRIPOD THROUGH IT'S PACES AND IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO USE LONGER LENSES, AS IN MY PICTURE, YOU WILL FIND THE BALL HEAD CREEPS AS YOU TIGHTEN THE LEVER SO GETTING A SPOT ON CENTER FOCUS (AS IN A MOON SHOT) IS TRICKY AND FRUSTRATING. IT TAKES QUITE A FEW SECONDS FOR THE MOVEMENT TO STOP. I FOUND MYSELF HAVING TO REPOSITION MULTIPLE TIMES. AN EXTERNAL SHUTTER RELEASE IS ESSENTIAL.
YOU CANNOT COMPLAIN AT ALL ABOUT THE WEIGHT. IT IS EXCEPTION IN THAT REGARD. I DO A LOT OF HIKING AND HAVING A DECENT SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT TRIPOD IS GREAT. THE QUICK RELEASE LEGS WERE ONE OF MY DECIDING FACTORS IN PICKING UP A SECOND TRIPOD. MY OTHER TRIPOD IS THE BENRO TRAVEL ANGEL, IT'S DECENT AS WELL BUT ANNOYING TO DEPLOY WITH THE TWIST RELEASE.
IF YOUR ARE LOOKING FOR A SPECIALTY HEAVY DUTY TRIPOD, THIS IS NOT YOUR BEST CHOICE, BUT FOR GENERAL PURPOSE LIGHT WEIGHT PIECE OF GEAR, IT IS WORTH THE MONEY.
Gary P.
Great, lightweight, compact tripod. Love the quick release and versatility!
Ilkhom B.
Couldn't be more happy with this tripod! Comes with the cover and all the accessories you might need. It's very light and easy to use. It's my first tripod and I absolutely love it!
Christian d.
Was skeptical at such a high price point than I’m used to (just a hobbyist mainly creating memories for the family) but this guy is so portable, so strong and versatile.
Alex Y.
This is best tripod for travel. I have absolutely no regrets!
Kai K.
So far I love the size and the weight of this tripod. It’s a little unsteady when using my 4x5 camera, but that is pushing the weight limits of this tripod. With my full frame digital camera, it’s solid and steady!
Brandon T.
I love how light weight this tripod is. It makes it's very easy to travel with
Dan A.
very compact which was needed, and reasonably stable. Is it as stable as your full framed tripod, well no. But the carbon fiber does a really good job of making this a stable tripod. I needed a fast compact tripod and this was a very good answer to that problem without spending an arm and a leg.
Barry P.
Purchased this tripod because my current tripod was just too heavy to travel with. Watched a Youtube video of a photographer I follow and was impressed. Did some research on this tripod and the Peak Design. Cost and size made my decision easy. I used this with my Nikon Z9 and a 70-200 and was impressed at how sturdy it was. Glad I made the purchase and have recommended it to a fellow photographer.
Michael S.
I was amazed by the stability of the travel tripod. In the past when doing time-lapse, my old tripod would often shake a little. Not with the Ulanzi. Its solid. Love the hook underneath to hold my backpack to add even more stability.
Zachary K.
Very compact but sturdy. A great travel tripod!
David P.
Box was crushed on arrival. Luckily nothing was broken.
David H.
Very nicely made tripod, lightweight with an excellent finish. It was purchased to replace my other tripod which was often left at home as it was quite heavy. I am not quite sure what I am supposed to do with the Quick release Falcam F38 System since the tripod already has a quick release capability and would appreciate hearing from Ulanzi as to its purpose with the setup I have.
Thank you Ulanzi!
Steven G.
The feel and quality of this tripod is incredible, coming from a few cheap tripods I'm amazed at how insanely nice a quality tripod is. This thing feels super sturdy but is also remarkably lightweight. Overall extremely impressed, and the quick release mechanism... I'm in LOVE!
ALKAYA NOYAN T.
Ulanzi deserve to be the best competitor in this market.
Great quality and good selling service.
Dan D.
I have used the Peak Design tripod, and the F38 is lighter and easier to get the camera on and off with the F38 quick-release system. I also like the integrated tool to tighten vs. the Peak Design external tool. Both are great tripods, but this is better.
Ilya S.
cant use generic Arca quick release plate
Mehdi E.
It is great, light weight and wonderful. Very clean product. And have some gift with it.
Maher D.
Great tripod. Easy to use and, best of all amazing customer service!
Don R.
It is a Christmas gift for my daughter. When she opens it I’ll let you know
Farouk S.
The tripod build quality is excellent, and the thoughtfulness of the design does not go unnoticed. The fact that the multitool is a 'screw in' rather than friction fit is amazing, you never have to worry about it falling out on its own. The mounting plate also has multiple methods for tightening, so if you happen to lose your tool, you don't necessary have to go buy another one. Great design overall.
Ren A.
Great price point for a carbon fiber tripod except the base plate could have been way better if it is hex instead of standard screw that is difficult to tighten.
Luke H.
Great product, and I also appreciate the fast and helpful responses from the customer service team!
Robert O.
Have the peak design aluminum version. Wish This was available then. Love the weight, sturdy and well designed. Sadly had to replace all my arca plates as these were smaller and the head would not accept any of them.
Alex D.
Ulanzi "F38 Quick Release Travel Tripod" is a great alternative to Peak Design's Travel Tripod (both aluminum and carbon versions). Superior price, lighter weight, usability and availability of Ulanzi's native attachments all work in the favor of Ulanzi. A few more observations: expect no "rattling" with Ulnazi's quick connect (tested F38 and F22) due to perfect tolerances observed through all the components involved; do not try to fit this otherwise very compact and portable tripod into the side pocket of Peak Design's "EVERYDAY BACKPACK 20L", as the fit is too tight. In any event, healthy competition between these two vendors offers consumers exceptional products.
Lawrence L.
Best travel tripod up to date! And the F38 quick release mount makes it even more convenient! Thank you!
Dale M.
A great tripod. Very versatile and exactly what I was looking for. It took quite a while to arrive but worth the wait.
Maxwell B.
The BEST travel tripod.
Luis Arai L.
Seriously impressive tripod. It's actually lighter than my carbon fiber monopod. Packs down incredibly slick with the built in bowl ball head. Blows similar models out of the water. The Allen wrench built into the hook is genius.
Jeffrey P.
The Zero F38 is small and lightweight, ideal for the uses I have for it and my Olympus equipment. The fluid head that I purchased is working great and I use it on the free extra center collum that came with the Zero.
Mark C.
Was looking for a light weight travel tripod to take on family vacations and hiking that wouldn’t break the bank or my back.
Had been using the Aoka carbon tripod and it was light, but did not extend to the heights I wanted and I didn’t trust it with my Sony a7iv on top of mountains in the wind. This tripod adds a little weight over the Aoka, but the stability, height and features make up for that in a second.
Took this tripod with us to the Grand Canyon and on a couple hikes and did not notice the weight at all. Was able to capture some amazing family shots without concern of the camera moving. I use the peak design capture clip and the ball head worked great with it.
Overall very pleased with this tripod and world purchase again
Hrachia K.
This tripod is very light and versatile, easy to deploy and fold back. I wish the quick release base was compatible with Peack Design too, but that version was available at Amazon for 16$, so I bought one.
Roger F.
I generally take wildlife photos with lens lengths that require control over lens movement. I'd previously been using a monopod with a plastic quick release plate which occasionally popped out of its socket, to my great alarm. My Ulanzi's metal F38 quick release system is rugged and inspires confidence. The tripod is very sturdy (I haven't had to hang weight on the hook yet) and light enough that it now sits permanently in my backpack side pocket. The ball head has a simple clip system to release tension for adjustment and then resecure in position, and I've seen no drift on my lenses. Overall, I'm very pleased with it - meets my needs very well.
Clark H.
The tripod works very well. I find it quick to set up. Very light. It fits in to my backpack easily. I'm very happy with it.
I'm using it with a fluid head and it works well. I put the F38 plate on the bottom of the fluid head and quickly attach it when setting up.
Improvements would be a different type of bubble level. One that would stick out the side and be viewed from above. (Or have this as an optional accessory.)
Also having a light source for the bubble level would be good.
Eduardo D.
I have hardly ever had a piece of gear I've wanted to love more. I have hardly ever had a piece of gear it's been harder for me to love. I don't make too much a distinction between the aluminum, which I have, and the carbon fiber--the latter is a bit lighter and it's touted to be more stable, however I have not had a stability problem that's related to materials.
Brandon R.
Obviusly the point of this tripod is to be compact - and it is. Its also stable and the quality of production is excellent. There are a lot of clever features.
KIYOMASA B.
Nice tripods and it's well designed with feet locks, head all smooth and working well. Recommended.
Ralph C.
I shoot with a Sony A6000. I’ve never owned a tripod but was planning to work on some landscape photography and a tripod is a must. This baby is compact, super easy to use and sturdy to boot. Like other Ulanzi performance products, you’ll be happy with this purchase.
Fraser A.
I wanted a good tripod for hiking and general photography that would be enough to support a large telephoto lens, but not weigh a ton. This tripod met those requirements perfectly. The designers really went back to the drawing board with this tripod and gave it a thorough redesign compared to a conventional tripod. T
In all, this tripod will work well whether you travel or not. It may not be the cheapest tripod on the market, but the quality and engineering are definitely worth it.
Luis W.
I haven’t owned many tripods and I’m a hobbyist, not a professional but this tripod is amazing. It sets up in seconds. Sometimes a product video makes it seem easier than it it in reality. But that’s not the case here. It really is easy to set up.
Kevin G.
The simplicity of this tripod which is almost a virtual reinvention, is superb in terms of weight, packability, speed of set up and take down, and just awesomely easy to use
Robert E.
I found this tripod so light, stable, and easy to set up. I hike a lot and normally take just a day pack. This tripod fits perfectly and doesn't add much more weight to my gear. I can't believe i waited so long to buy a good quality tripod!
CRAIG R.
I have been eyeballing this travel tripod for a while. This tripod is slick. Great compact design, lightweight, and sturdy. Ulanzi has pulled out all of the stops with so many cool features and no cheap parts. I love how easy it is to set up and take down. No more torture sessions in the field. And its amazingly tall when fully extended too. Have to say...it is worth the price!
Elbert P.
Best tripod I've ever owned! Works perfectly, no more bulk in the bag, which means I can always have my tripod when I need it. Another great product from Ulanzi!
Miguel T.
Honestly since I saw this tripod I wanted it. I was hesitant because of the price, but truthfully its more than capable of becoming the only monopod or tripod you ever pack.
Does it do everything other tripods do?
Yes
What sets it apart?
The incredible attention to each and every detail associated with it’s functionality, design, sturdiness and convenience. From the leg clamps to ball head I swear it’s unmatched.
Highly HIGHLY recommend!
Arjen J.
I’ve never been so excited about a tripod and all it’s features. Super compact. Very versatile. Amazing!!
Matthew R.
I received the Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Travel Tripod a few weeks ago and immediately started putting it through its paces. The tripod came in a decent quality carrying bag which I have found convenient to put in while storing or in transit on my way to a destination. When I first took the tripod out of the bag I was immediately impressed by the weight of the tripod, which is constructed form carbon fiber. The carbon fiber helps keep the tripod light as well as still structurally strong and looks great. I have another brand all aluminum tripod that is a similar size, but weighs noticeably more. I have primarily used a the Ulazni F38 with my FujiFilm x100s as well as my FujiFilm X-T3 with vertical battery grip and found that it was able to handle these cameras easily. The x100s on the Ulanzi tripod is an incredibly lightweight rig and while the FujiFilm X-T3 with battery grip is quite a bit heavier I found that it was still a pretty manageable travel photography setup.
There was a moment after I started to get the tripod set up that I became concerned. I put my camera onto of the tripod and noticed that the ball head had some play in it that wasn’t keeping the camera stable. It took me a few moments to realize that there is an Allen screw in the center that I just needed to tighten a little more and it corrected this. It should be noted as well that the Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Travel Tripod also has an Allen tool that screws into the bottom of the center column. This tool comes in handy so you can tighten any screws that might come loose.
The Ulanzi Tripod is a travel tripod and so the light weight and the small compact size is ideal. While folded up the tripod is 16.7” and when extended can be 62.6” tall. I found the size and weight factor make me want to grab the tripod and bring it along with me. Over the last couple of weeks I have taken the Ulazni F38 with me on a bunch of different adventures and found no problem taking it to a bunch of different landscapes. I also found adjusting the legs to different angles was easy to do.
I found the ball head easy to use and adjust quickly. At first I wasn’t crazy about the flip locks that the tripod has because I am so used to using the kind that you screw to lock and unlock. I got used to these after a few times using them and now I almost prefer them. The tripod also comes with a quick release plate which is a must for me. When I am going out photographing different landscapes I am often taking my camera on and off the tripod when moving from one location to another and the quick release helps speed this along. From my experience the quick release plate seems to work really well, though sometimes I had trouble getting it onto the tripod the first time. This came down to the plate needing to be lined up so it would slide right now and might be more user error than anything. My other tripod has a different style quick release plate and I don’t have that issue, but I do think the quick release with the F38 is maybe more reliable especially the way you can lock it in place.
Overall I think the Ulazni F38 Quick Release Travel Tripod is a great lightweight quality tripod. This tripod works great for photographers looking for a sturdy tripod that won’t be too cumbersome to carry with them through all different landscapes.
Luukas M.
Best travel tripod I’ve purchased. Compact, sturdy, and so easy to operate. I’d recommend this to all my photographer friends
Alex K.
For run and fun, hikes, interviews and skeleton rigs, this is perfect. For studio, all day video projects beyond photography, it’s best for the B roll camera guy. I highly recommend this tripod for what it’s designed for. You can even push its limits, but I’d stay true to the weight class it contends in.
